About Sunlighten: Connie Zack speaks with Randy Alverez

Connie Zack describes how Sunlighten came to be and how they became the industry leader in Far Infrared and Full Spectrum technology.

Sunlighten: What Consumers Need to Know

Sunlighten sauna customers need to know that results are driven and backed by clinical research. It is extremely important to validate the claims being made, and the research proves that. Not only does the clinical research provide information on the benefits of the Sunlighten saunas, the patented assembly process, Magneseal, also provides the easiest assembly process on the market. Magneseal uses magnets to hold together the cabin walls which allow the wood to keep its integrity and minimize warping or bending over time.

Sunlighten: Far Infrared and Near Infrared Wavelengths

Co-Owner and CSO, Connie Zack, talks about the differences between the Far infrared and the Near Infrared wavelengths provided in the Full Spectrum mPulse sauna line.

Lose Weight & Lower Blood Pressure with Sunlighten Saunas

Sunlighten saunas are the only infrared sauna clinically shown to reduce belly fat and lower blood pressure.  In a study published by the Canadian Journal of Diabetes, Sunlighten saunas were shown to help lower waist size and circumference in just a 3 month period.  Another study from University of Missouri Kansas City showed a significant reduction in blood pressure using a Sunlighten sauna 3 times per week.

Infrared Sauna Myths - What to Know Before You Buy

Some sauna companies say that heaters above your head isn’t safe.  Infrared heat is completely safe for all living things.  In fact, it is so safe, hospitals use similar heaters to warm newborns (their heads have to be kept warm too).  This is simply a way for manufactures to reduce the number of heaters and infrared surface area in order to cut costs.  If this were true, a shorter than average individual would not be able to sauna and you would not be able to lie down and relax during sessions.

Sunlighten: Infrared Wavelength vs. Temperature

Sunlighten offers a more comfortable and rejuvenating sauna experience by keeping heater effectiveness high and temperature low. The wavelengths produce a heat that is warm enough to be comfortable, but not hot enough to cause dizziness and shortness of breath.

The heat warms the body from the core, so the convectional heat in the cabin around you is not as important as your core body temperature. The infrared wavelengths produce a viscous sweat that allows the body to purge toxins that it couldn’t otherwise.

Benefits of Full Spectrum Infrared Saunas

The blend of near, mid and far infrared wavelengths used in the preset programs of the mPulse sauna are based on 56 clinically-backed studies that include near, mid and far infrared therapy.  Studies conducted by NASA and other highly intelligent scientists clinically-showed MIR and NIR to be beneficial for pain relief, anti-aging, wound healing and cell health.

Infrared Safety

The infrared wavelength is one of the natural wavelengths from the sun that produces the warm feeling that customers experience. The harmful UVA and UVB rays are left out. Infrared technology is used in hospitals to warm babies as a way to mimic the mother’s womb. It is completely safe to have near all areas of the body.

What to Know Before Buying an Infrared Sauna

Like anything else, you get what you pay for.  Low-end saunas are made with low-end materials, are less effective for health benefits and can lead to costly repairs or replacement down the road.  For example, hemlock, spruce and pine are low cost options for sauna manufacturers.  They are inexpensive due to knots in the wood and thinner planks are used which makes the cabin less durable.  Saunas made from quality wood such as basswood or cedar will stand up over time.  But most importantly, if you are buying a sauna for health benefits, cheaper is not better.  If you purchase an infrared space heater, you don’t expect health benefits from it.  The same goes for low-end infrared saunas.  Look for proven emissivity of 95% and above.

General Benefits

Sunlighten saunas are a great product for every crowd, from the wellness gurus looking for preventative tools to individuals looking to help with pain relief, weight loss and detoxification.

Sunlighten also offers Near, Mid and Far infrared wavelengths in the mPulse series — the only sauna on the market to have this technology. The mPulse series is comprised of 6 programs with a various combination of the near, mid and far wavelengths to provide specific results including, cardio, skin health, detoxification, weight loss, relaxation and pain relief.

Core Temperature, Detoxification and Sweat

Sunlighten’s infrared therapy causes the body’s core temperature to rise, creating an artificial fever in order to purge toxic elements at a lower temperature for a more comfortable and rejuvenating experience.

The sweat expelled during a Sunlighten Sauna session is different from a normal sweat due to the amount of toxins that are released. Sweat from a Sunlighten Sauna session will be more gel like and viscous, because its water content is lower than a normal sweat you would generate at the gym or traditional sauna.
